The deadly spread of coronavirus has made face coverings obligatory in public. Not doing so could either put you at risk of contracting the deadly disease or, if you already had the germs, you could pass it on to whoever comes into contact with you.
What Has Made Queen Elizabeth Exempt From This Obligation?
Queen Elizabeth, 93, had drawn into self-isolation back in March, with her husband, Prince Phillip. They both withdrew from public appearances and moved their living arrangements from Buckingham Palace in London to the quieter and distant, Windsor Castle.
She has since then, abstained from public appearances, except for two rare instances.
She attended the Trooping the Color Celebration and the knighting of Sir Tom Moore. Both events were small affairs carried out in a restricted gathering within the castle.
Other than that, the Queen took part in a personal celebration: the wedding of her granddaughter Princess Beatrice to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The wedding had gotten postponed from March due to the widespread destruction caused by the pandemic, and finally took place in June, with only twenty close friends and family members in attendance.
The Latest Appearance Of Queen Elizabeth!
On Thursday, Queen Elizabeth went on an outing with her Grandson, Prince William, to Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL). In her excursion, the Queen and her accompanying crew were seen without any face covering, which seems strange, considering that the coronavirus is still abounding in the air without any known medication to cure it. Even Prince William, who has earlier been seen taking strict precautions, like wearing a mask and maintaining a suitable social distance, was seen violating these parameters.
The royal spokesperson revealed that it is because all necessary precautions had been taken during the visit. All the 48 personnel who were supposed to meet the royal members, were tested for corona and delivered a negative report. Likewise, social distancing was being practiced diligently while the meeting was set up on open grounds to avoid crowding.
The Motive Behind The Royal Visit!
The royals had planned this visit for back in April to pay tribute to the medical staff who had helped treat and recover a former spy, Sergei Skripal, 67, and his daughter, who had been poisoned by Russian agents in March 2018.
The Queen and Prince William both also applauded the service of doctors who are at the forefront of treating corona patients and devised new plans for counteracting the emerging second wave.
