Looks like staying away from Pacific Palisades is too hard for Melissa Rivers! After selling her previous home in the neighborhood for a little over $5.223 million, Melissa Rivers has purchased a new one there. The longtime Fashion Police host bought the house for $7.7 million in an off-market deal.
Measuring 4,888 sq. ft., although this house is a ‘downsize’ compared to her former 5,850 sq. ft. home, it’s loaded with fancy amenities ideal for a celeb of Rivers’ stature.
Let’s take a quick tour of the house, shall we?
A few bits from the past
The Cape Cod-style house was originally built in 2015. Before it was constructed, space was occupied by a modest two-bedroom Mellenthin-like bungalow (FYI, William Mellenthin was a prolific builder in the mid-20th century) which was demolished.
According to reports, to strike the deal, The Agency’s Marco Rufo spoke for the anonymous seller while Compass’s Laura Brau represented Rivers.

Rivers’ Pacific Palisades Mansion
The two-story house comprises five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms with wide-plank wood floors and custom millwork. Its entrance begins with a spacious hall and leads to the dining cum living room, decorated with dark tree printed wallpapers and a carved-mantel fireplace.
On the same floor are an en suite guest/staff bedroom, a powder room, and a high-end kitchen. The kitchen is exposed to an informal dining area decorated with glass sliders and boasts a large marble center island. FYI, the glass sliders provide easy access to the dense backyard.
On the second floor are three guest bedrooms with private baths and a main suite with an exclusive sitting area, built-in bookshelves, walk-in closets, and a stately fireplace. The primary suite also has a custom-built attached bathroom with dove-grey walls.
Surrounded by tall hedges, the backyard provides complete privacy and has enough room for a built-in fire grill, an outdoor fireplace, a large swimming pool, and an inset spa. As per the listing photos, there is enough space for installing a Ping-Pong table and a trampoline.

Other real-estate deals
Recently, Melissa Rivers bid farewell to her Santa Monica Home, earning $15.5 million from the deal. She bought this house in January 2016 at the price of $11 million and decorated it with the help of designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard.
The house consisted of six bathrooms and six bedrooms, a spacious living room, a chef’s kitchen, a cozy family room, and an airy dining room. It also had a home office with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, a large lawn, a sports court, a swimming pool, and an elevated spa.
Her previous Pacific Palisades home spread over 7000 sq. ft. and highlighted six bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. It had a top-notch kitchen, separate living and family room, formal dining room, an infinity pool, a small spa area, and a grassy lawn.
