By far and large, the coronavirus pandemic has managed to change the face of the world more than we thought possible. With business operations closing down, people losing their jobs, and being forced into isolation for months on end, no one has had it easy in 2020. And the worst part is, we’re nowhere close to the end of this nightmare.
Shifting to remote learning methodologies was one of the challenges that came with the pandemic, with parents struggling to ensure that their children could continue to receive a proper education. However, in addition to learning how to micromanage squirmy little monsters and getting them to pay attention to their lessons, creating a suitable school environment within the home became another task for parents to check off their to-do list.
If you’re still struggling to nail the home school aesthetic, these famous parents seem to be doing great in that department (maybe they were teachers and architects in another life, who knows?)
Read on for a good dose of home school inspiration.
Reese Witherspoon
The famous actress has converted a wooden dining table in her home as a remote learning space for her son. The area reminds us of traditional classrooms, with tons of natural light seeping in through the windows. To elevate the area’s mood and make it seem more “class-like,” Reese has also set up a trifold of the solar system and flashcards of encouragement.
Pink
We honestly feel that Pink’s house was destined for homeschooling from all the pictures we’ve seen throughout the lockdown. The jewel-toned walls illuminate her children’s learning space, adding to the classroom vibe.
Pink seems to know how to transform every space into what she needs. A couple of months ago, the singer created a house-wide obstacle course that could easily put any gym to shame.
David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris
Even though the How I Met Your Mother stars reportedly have many fancy residences to their name, they decided to repurpose a minivan as their twins’ remote learning space. Perhaps the couple thought the classroom vibe just couldn’t be recreated within their home, or they just wanted more outdoor time for their children.
Max Greenfield
Max’s comedic streak isn’t just for the benefit of his fans. While most parents aim for distraction-free learning spaces for their children, Max and his daughter have claimed the class clown title during the lockdown.
We have to give it to them, the Instagram videos are pretty hilarious, but one must know when to put their foot down. However, it seems like the actor doesn’t plan on mending his ways any time soon as he has similar plans for his son, who has just been enrolled in preschool.
