The one thing that matters most is beginning a new chapter after exchanging vows with your loved one. It never hurts to have a couple of close family members and friends to witness the occasion.

The problem comes when everyone wants to bring a plus one, and it’s the reason why couples always send out save the date cards well in advance. Some couples have stringent budgets to work with, and that means that they have to do the majority of tasks themselves. This poor couple had to pose for their photos and then go right back in to clean their reception venue.

You might be happy that your brother has finally settled down, but you don’t want to see him locking lips with his better half. It’s worse when the photographer decides to document that special moment only to capture the look of disgust plastered on your face. We get it, and at least they got this epic photo out of it.

No one, and we mean absolutely no one, will relish at the sight of their family member kissing their significant other. The look on Cody’s face says it all, she’s probably thinking that they should get a room. The only problem is that it’s their big day.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

The best nuptials are those that include every family member. That means that even our loyal four-legged furry companions are welcomed.

Dogs are some of the most loyal creatures we know, and everyone who has one as a pet says that they quickly become part of the family. That’s why they also welcome when you are getting hitched, just that you shouldn’t expect too much from them. These furry creatures have a mind of their own, and they will take a snooze wherever they please. No one can be mad at how adorable they look, making themselves comfortable on this woman’s train.

How cute does this photo look, and the credits all go to the adorable sleeping dogs? It must have been quite a big day for them, and when they had the chance, they chose the best spot to grab some shut-eye.

The Second Time’s A Charm

Love always finds a way, but sometimes it takes a second try to succeed at it. Many people don’t give up on marriage just because it didn’t work the first time around.

The big day can end up being taken too seriously, and some lighthearted humor is always welcome. There’s no better time to get some humor in than when delivering a speech. That’s what Mel decided to do when he opened up his speech by welcoming everyone back again. We are sure his opening remarks must have elicited some laughter. That is if everyone shared his sense of humor.

The best time to roast the groom is during his big day. The ceremony even sets up the stage for it, and just about every best man always finds a way to throw in some lighthearted jabs when delivering his speech.

A Snug Mistake

Our parents always have the best stories to tell about the ceremonies they’ve attended or their very own. Somehow, there is still something that went wrong.

Jenna’s parents were no different, and she recalls how her dad made a snug mistake. He was running late for his big day, and in the flurry to get out the door, he mistakenly wore her grandad’s tux. No one would have noticed it except that the tux was a bit snug on him. Jenna’s mom also pointed out that the tux didn’t match her dress. We imagine this story always crops up when they fish out photos from that day.

Whether you want to or not, you can probably recount everything that happened when your folks got hitched. That’s especially true if there are photos that captured a mistake your dad made. We wonder what color the suit was so that it didn’t go with a white dress.

Showers Of Blessings

Even the weather lady can’t predict the weather on her big day. Jesse is a meteorologist, and she took pride in knowing that she could go for an outdoor ceremony.

We rely on meteorologists to use scientific principles to help us understand more about atmospheric conditions. That essentially means that they can make weather predictions, and Jesse was convinced that it would be a sunny day. They proceeded with the outdoor ceremony only for the skies to open up. From the looks of it, they still made the most out of the day and taking into account the occasion; these were just showers of blessing.

Whatever the weather, the big day must go on. This couple didn’t let unpredicted rain get in the way of their happiness. It never hurts to have a contingency plan when hosting outdoor ceremonies, just in case the unlikely happens and it rains.

Falling For Each Other

Every wife-to-be can only hope that their significant other will continue knocking them off their feet. Well, at least not in the literal sense.

Deana’s husband went the literal route when a series of missteps caused him to topple over her. She even has a video reminding her of the moment, and what’s funny is the best man, we presume, staring helplessly at the situation. If you look close enough, it almost looks like he’s getting a good laugh out of the situation. Fortunately, two other men were quick to help the couple out of their predicament. The awkward moment must have followed after this.

If you get a man who can sweep you off your feet for the rest of your life, you can count yourself lucky. However, Deana didn’t expect that she would fall for her husband and have the embarrassing moment recorded.

Great Minds Think Alike

If you thought that the lady walking down the aisle is the only one who has challenges finding the perfect gown for her big day, try being the mother or grandma attending such a ceremony.

Grandmas seem to have a very particular taste in outfits leaning towards elements like long skirts and dark colors. Take these grandmas, for instance, they are wearing appropriate outfits for the big day only that they have each donned the same one. They must have all shopped at the same store, or it’s just a lovely coincidence. As they say, great minds do think alike.

When attending special events, we all try our best to impress. These grandmas did it, and they aren’t bothered by the fact that they are all wearing the same outfit. It looks like a great friendship started on this occasion.

Tardy For The Party

If there’s one day you don’t want to be late, it’s when you are exchanging vows with your significant other. Now picture all your guests being late for the occasion?

Ellen and her groom sent out their invitations on time, and we imagine that all their guests also responded to the RSVPs in good time. The only problem was that it didn’t occur to them that they should indicate that their ceremony would take place on the day when they switch over to Daylight Savings. In an unusual turn of events, their guests started streaming into the venue an hour late.

For future purposes, Daylight Savings Time kicks off on the second Sunday of March and runs through to the first  Sunday of November each year. It essentially means that you should forward your clock ahead by an hour during warmer months. 

The Brawl

We can thank The Hangover for giving us a vivid depiction of what it’s like to be one of the groomsmen. Some level of chaos is always expected.

Most grooms will assign their best buddy, brother, or cousin, the coveted role of being their best man. The groomsmen are expected to get into some mischief during the bachelor party, which is often held the night before his nuptials. This particular groom and best man had quite the night from the sound of it. One had to be picked up from jail and the other from the hospital before the ceremony.

They say that men will always be men, and a couple of grooms and their best men have exchanged punches the night before the big day. However, we haven’t heard of many cases where one ends up in jail and the other in the hospital the night before.

Older ladies are mainly known for raiding the buffet table at receptions, and you can’t blame them because it’s often quite a long wait for the couple to arrive at the venue. That’s why this one lady who attended John’s big day went for a platter. Her only mistake was going for a big serving of what she thought was guacamole. She dug into it, and the paramedics had to be called because what she ate was wasabi.

We all know that we should mind our business when we spot someone who is piling food on their plate at the reception. Perhaps we should always be our brother’s keeper to prevent similar spicy turn of events happening in the future.

Words don’t always come easy, and this doesn’t ring truer than when a couple recites their vows to each other and in front of all their loved ones.

When Jackie had her nuptials, her husband recited the most beautiful vows. Then it was her turn, and tears were always flowing from her eyes. She was naturally overcome by the sweet moment, and she was caught up in the moment. After calming herself, it was her turn to deliver her vows. The best she could mutter was “ditto.” Her husband, who must have spent a significant amount of time on his vows, would have expected more.

It’s special to pen down those heartfelt words you are going to tell your better half when pledging your life-long devotion to each other. While it’s more special if you can recite the words unaided, it doesn’t hurt to read them just to remember the words.

Always Be “Carful”

Your big day offers an opportunity to have the spotlight on you. That’s why couples go all out, including getting a luxury car for the drive to and away from the venue.

Decorating these vehicles with lights and streamers to let the world know that they are ferrying newlyweds is quite the task. The activity itself of fixing these decorative elements on the car is usually lots of fun. The issue starts when you finish decking out the couple’s vehicle with window soaping and streamers only to realize that it’s the wrong car. Not only is it the wrong vehicle, but it turns out to be the preacher’s car.

The process of planning a couple’s big day requires a given level of attention to detail. Otherwise, you’ll end up like Kevin and his friends who decorated the preacher’s car with window soaping and streamers, instead of the couple’s vehicle.

The movies would have us believe that there is always someone lurking around and waiting to bring your big day to a screeching halt. Their cue is usually when the priest asks if anyone objects to the marriage.

Niki Schmidt recalls that when her godparents tied the knot at a hunting lodge, there were a couple of objections. Just when the priest asked if anyone objected to their union, 15 of the dogs around the lodge started howling. We are not sure if the protests of howling dogs count, but Niki says that her godparents became cat people soon after.

When the priest asks any person who objects to the marriage to let it known, no one expects someone to protest. In some instances, it’s our canine friends who seem to object, like when Niki’s godparents got hitched at a hunting lodge.

Fight For The Bouquet

The old-fashioned tradition of catching the bouquet, to symbolize who is next on the line to the altar, is still prevalent in most ceremonies.

The process can get catty, and that’s what Jasmine recalls happening on one of these occasions. Jasmine watched as her cousin fought someone for the bouquet. Jasmine’s cousin must have wanted to be next on line to get hitched. The only problem was that she was already someone’s wife, but there’s always a second time for everything. We are hoping that her husband wasn’t there, because that would have been one awkward ride back home.

New beginnings start every day, and yours could kick off when you grab that bridal bouquet when it’s tossed in the air. Jasmine’s cousin seems to believe in this philosophy, and that’s why she went for the bouquet despite already being married.

When this lady’s friend made it to the altar a third time around, naturally, everyone must have been happy that she hadn’t given up on marriage. Her young son was present and serving as the ring bearer the second time around. When the priest asked his mother if she agrees to have and to hold.., she responded, “I do.” The little boy was quick to remind everyone that that was what his mom had said the previous time.

Kids are known to add a sense of cuteness when they are part of your big day. They are perfect for tasks like dropping flower petals along the aisle leading up to the altar. Just be prepared for their unsolicited truths.

Swept Away

Everyone looks forward to having a piece of cake, and it all starts with the alluring presentation. It can get challenging when you are having an outdoor ceremony.

Deborah attended a friend’s reception, and it was particularly windy. The groom on the cake got swept right off the cake, leaving what looks like he had jumped off. Another way to look at it was that the female topper pushed the groom off of the cake. That could be why the topper left on the cake seems to be waving goodbye, and we can’t help but wonder if it’s possibly a subtle message.

There are several ways the cake could get messed up, and everyone should just be happy if there’s one in the first place. It’s liveable if everything else goes as planned with your big day, and the only problem is an accident involving the cake.

A resounding agreement by couples who’ve gone to the altar is that you should always expect the unexpected. Even if you’ve planned for the unexpected, the universe has a way of reminding you that life is unpredictable.

Lora’s reception came to an abrupt end when an electrical fire broke out. The entire building was evacuated, and members of law enforcement responded to the scene. Anyone would be heartbroken by this turn of events, but Lora and her better half had some fun with it. They now have this truly awesome photo that essentially symbolizes that they are chained for life.

Expect the wildly unexpected is the best advice you can give anyone walking down the aisle. For instance, an electrical fire can break out during your reception. Thankfully for Lora, the turn of things made this truly awesome photo possible.

Call Me By My Name

Friends fans can remember the moment when Ross Geller was getting married to Emily Waltham, and he called her Rachel. It turns out that the “Ross Geller moment” does happen in real life.

In Kaylyn Pierro’s case, however, she was the one who got names confused during her sister’s big day. When delivering her speech, standing in front of 300 people, she started by introducing herself. She said that she was Christina, but she is called Kaylyn, and Christina is her sister’s name. It’s an innocent mistake that can happen to anyone, and at least it wasn’t the groom who called his wife another name.

It’s natural to get nervous during your sister’s big day, mainly if you are the maid of honor giving a speech. The easiest way to start a speech is by introducing yourself, just make sure that you get your name right.

Something Lost

Another unique tradition that most couples follow is getting something blue, new, and borrowed for their big day. For this couple, something lost made it on their list.

Darla had a beach ceremony, and somewhere along the way, she dropped the ring she was going to slip on her husband’s finger when they were exchanging vows. She didn’t realize it until the very last minute, and what followed was something close to an impromptu treasure hunt. The few moments of sheer panic made the search look like it took an eternity. Fortunately, they finally found the ring, and the day was saved.

Destination ceremonies are always special, but they could also end up being a nightmare. Darla found that out the hard way when she dropped the ring she was going to exchange with her better half. The panic couldn’t have helped the anxiety she possibly already had.

Drowning In Love

Photoshoots are a great way to let loose and also shake off the stress from the day. Couples usually go all out to get the best and most creative photos.

Couples can find that they are soon drowning in ideas, and the thought that they should have just taken regular photos crosses their minds when it’s too late. Aaron and his significant other felt that it would be romantic to take a picture in a boat after their vows. They were soon capsizing, and the photographer, thankfully, kept on snapping. Photoshoots can get as creative as the couple is willing to go, and usually, they’ll pull all stops to get the best photos. This couple’s dreamy photoshoot went overboard, and what might have seemed like a great idea ended up being a regret.

A Sombre Affair

Hard as it is to imagine, there’ll always be that one person who isn’t too thrilled about your big day. You’ll know it from the subtle grunts or sighs they utter, and their general mood on your big day.

Lauryn picked it up the moment her ex-mother-in-law walked in wearing a black ensemble. She even sat at the back, while the mother of the groom is always expected to take a seat somewhere at the front. The woman didn’t need to say any words to reveal that she wasn’t too thrilled about her child’s choices. It doesn’t seem like they ever came around to making it work.

When your mother-in-law shows up to your big day wearing all-black, it isn’t a good sign. To make matters worse, Lauryn’s ex-mother-in-law sat at the very back. That wasn’t a great way to welcome Lauryn into the family, and it’s no wonder she’s no longer a part of it.

Having A Terrible Day

It’s not every day that you hear someone saying that they are having a terrible day during someone else’s big day. The couple getting hitched usually have a case of jitters, especially when things start running late.

The wife-to-be should never have to worry about what she needs to wear when she’s just hours away from walking down the aisle. Kristin faced this nightmare on her big day when her wedding dress was two and a half hours late. Her gown maker hadn’t even finished working on it, and they turned up with a sewing machine to continue working on it.

If there’s anyone who is beside herself with worry on the big day, it’s the wife-to-be. Kristin got her wedding dress two and a half hours late, on her big day. It wasn’t even done, and the dressmaker had the nerve to say that they were having a terrible day.
